Dental Implants

When you are missing a tooth (or teeth), this can diminish the beauty of your smile, thus activating bone loss and the shifting of your remaining teeth, leading to additional health problems.

Dental implants can change the way you experience life. People benefit from dental implants in ways that transform their sense of comfort and confidence to eat, speak, smile and live with more enjoyment - simple pleasures.

Dental implants are most times your best option to replace missing teeth. They provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental Implants Procedure in Four Steps

  1. The gum tissue is prepared to expose the bone area where the implant will be placed.  In some cases when there is insufficient bone structure, bone grafting may be required. when there is insufficient bone structure.
  2. A drill is used to prepare the bone for the implant
  3. The dental implant is fixed to your jaw using a titanium alloy implant or anchor, which integrates with the bone and gums. It can take from three to six months for the gums and bone to completely grow around the anchor of the dental implants – resulting in the permanent hold of the anchor by the bone.
  4. The replacement tooth or teeth ("crowns") are fabricated and applied and then fitted to the titanium post. At Dental Health Center of Holmdel, CEREC technology is used to produce a tooth-like, ceramic crown in just one visit, thus eliminating multiple trips to the dentist to accomplish exact fit and comfort.

What are the advantages of dental implants over dental bridges and crowns?

Imagine regaining the ability to eat and smile with confidence, with the knowledge that your teeth will not only appear natural, but that your facial contours will also be preserved!

Restorative Treatments (Dental Crowns)

Dental Crown

Having a great smile comes in part from healthy, attractive teeth.  Cracked, stained or damaged teeth detract from your dental health and your appearance too.  A dental crown is a restoration that covers, or caps a tooth to restore it to its normal shape, appearance and size. Its purpose is to strengthen or improve the appearance of a tooth.

Crowns can:

At Dental Health Center of Holmdel, our goal is to create crowns that look like natural teeth, feel comfortable, and are structurally sound.  We are proud to be one of the very few dental practices in New Jersey, and the only one in Colts Neck and Holmdel, to use Cerec CAD/CAM state of the art technology  to produce ceramic, metal-free crowns.  By using the Cerec, restorations are completed in a single appointment.  No impressions, no temporary crowns.

Onlays and Inlays (Dental Fillings)

In the past, teeth with large areas of tooth decay or cracking and fracturing were remedied with placing a dental crown on a tooth. With today’s state of the art CEREC technology and improved strength of bonding agents, your teeth can be restored with aesthetic, tooth-like inlays or onlays (indirect fillings) in one visit.

An inlay dental restoration involves the bonding of material (compound or ceramic) within the center of the tooth.   Conversely, an onlay restoration remedies damage encompassing one or more cusps (points) of the tooth or complete coverage of the biting surface (damage on the tooth).

Benefits of Onlay and Inlay Restorations

At Dental Health Center of Holmdel, the use of cerec technology as well as the advanced skills of our dentists, make onlay and inlay restorations possible in one visit.
