“Our doctors, specialists, and everyone on our staff know what it means to be part of a loving, caring family— and we all treat every patient that way.”
When we say that DHC is a “family practice”, we mean much more than just the range of
exceptional cross-generational dental services that we offer.
It means knowing that moms and dads need flexible hours for office visits that fit their busy schedules
and appreciate the convenience of having everything in one place for their family’s dental health.
It means being sensitive to how little children experience our dentistry world
and making sure they are never anxious or afraid about being there.
It means that our doctors, specialists and everyone on the staff know
what it means to be part of a loving, caring family and treat every patient that way.
We take it as a privilege to be part of so many families and proud to see our young patients grow to become adult patients who entrust us with the care of their children’s smile.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child’s first visit to the dentist occur at 12 months of age. The earlier we begin, the better chance to have as a team to prevent, detect, and manage any problems.
Parents are always welcome to be in our treatment rooms with their young children. On the first visit and depending on your child’s age, his or her teeth will be gently cleaned by our dental hygienist. With your permission and understanding, X-rays may be taken in preparation of Dr. Laura, Dr. Rosanne, or Dr. Blaine coming in to do a thorough examination of teeth, gums, and mouth. Then protective sealants will be applied and, if necessary, a treatment plan determined. Soon you’ll be on your way until the next scheduled visit.
As brief and pleasant as your child’s first visit, it’s a very important first step to a life time of healthy and happy smiles. Infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special-needs, benefit from early preventive care and guidance. Our pediatrics practice treats a child’s teeth so they can be free of cavities and disease, makes their visits fun, guides their teeth and jaws into proper alignment, and gives them something to really smile about.
