Your Child’s First Visit

For many patients, Dental Health Center of Holmdel has become a family tradition.
We have seen many of our young patients grow to become adult patients, entrusting us with the care of their children.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child’s first visit to the dentist occur at 12 months of age. The earlier we begin, the better chance we have, as a team, to prevent, detect and manage any problems.

Pit and Fissure Cleaning and Sealants

Your child's first visit to the dentist should be a fun, anxiety free one.

Your child’s teeth will be gently and carefully cleaned by our friendly dental hygienists. Our dental hygienists are enthusiastic about teaching pediatric patients in a "fun and friendly" way which can make their dental visits happy and exciting. Your child will be taught the importance of healthy brushing and care to keep teeth healthy and strong.

Depending on your child's age and need, X-rays may be taken (with a parent's permission).

One of our dentists (all of them are moms!) will gently examine your child's teeth, gums and the remainder of the mouth and apply sealants as appropriate.

Parents are welcome in our treatment rooms. Your child will be offered the opportunity to operate a remote control to select and view a show on our state of the art, specially mounted televisions. Your child can relax in the comfort of our soft comfy treatment chairs while watching TV!
